Recognizing Employee Achievements – January 2021

With 2020 now behind us and as we look forward to a busy 2021, North Shore’s operational management team would like to take a moment to recognize some individuals for their outstanding contributions and efforts for the month of January. The following individuals are being recognized:

Dave Simmill

As one of North Shore’s Senior Remediation/Reclamation Coordinators, Dave keeps busy managing several of our client’s reclamation portfolios. Dave is an expert in reclamation and has been instrumental to North Shore’s success, passing along his knowledge to staff in the field and giving guidance to his colleagues working on other client programs. Thinking outside the box and utilizing the experience he has gained over his career, Dave has successfully obtained reclamation certificates on several sites using unique approaches to minimize disturbance and heavy equipment time. This has led to huge cost savings for our clients and reduced the timelines for achieving overall site closure. Thank you Dave and keep up the great work!

Mallika Senevirathna

Since joining the Technical Resource Group (TRG) in August 2020 as our Senior Technical Advisor, Mallika has brought considerable hydrogeological experience and expertise to our complex contaminated sites projects. This includes analyzing and interpreting field and analytical data and developing Tier 2 site specific guidelines, Conceptual Site Models, Remedial Action Plans, and Risk Management Plans for various soil and groundwater contaminated sites. Her technical expertise and experience have driven continuous improvements in North Shore’s internal processes, templates and reporting. Further, she is an excellent resource and has provided considerable mentorship and direction to our staff on complex environmental issues. Mallika’s warm and friendly disposition makes her easily approachable and she is always excited to embrace a new challenge and share her knowledge. Her contributions to the organization have made a huge impact in ensuring the success of client projects and we are very excited to head into 2021 with her on our team.

Katherine Taylor

Since joining the Air and Regulatory team, Katherine has become a key employee behind the scenes of all technical areas, invoicing support, and social media presence. She has been a crutch for all of North Shore’s key regulatory deadlines with a special acknowledgement on her significant support over the Christmas holiday break to meet the December 31st deadline for Annual Emissions Inventory Reporting (AIR) under the Alberta Air Monitoring Directive (AMD). Katherine has also been integral to the successful completion of 31 AEIR reports. Regardless of this being her first reporting period for this program, she was able to successfully navigate facility-specific supporting documents to find the information needed for the AEIR Forms and Quantification Methodology Documents. Katherine’s dedication and positive “can-do” attitude during the team’s reporting deadline crunch, was much appreciated and ensured North Shore was able to meet all of its reporting commitments. Thank you Katherine for your dedication and effort and North Shore is very fortunate to have you as part of our team!

Congratulations to these three individuals! North Shore’s management team is very proud of all of its staff and appreciates everyone’s hard work over the last month. So far 2021 is off to a great start and we are excited to continue our success and growth as the year unfolds. Take care everyone and stay safe!
